This is the image for the news article titled Insight 181: Riverside Elementary is truly a ‘place to belong’At Riverside Elementary, we are truly grateful for the incredible community that surrounds us — our devoted staff, dedicated students and supportive families.

Each day, you help make Riverside a special place, and I want to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation.

Long standing PTO mom, Alicia Priglmeier shared, “We have been so lucky to be a part of Riverside Elementary for the past 12 years. Riverside fosters a safe, nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. The best part of Riverside is the amazing staff. We’ve been blessed with teachers and support staff who genuinely love their students and love teaching.” This sentiment is echoed throughout our school community, and we are so thankful for the families who entrust us with their children’s education.

Our students are the heart of our school, and their enthusiasm for learning and kindness brighten our days. Brynn Georges shared, “My favorite part of Riverside is meeting new staff and giving Mrs. Bjorge hugs.” This simple yet touching expression of love and connection reminds us of the bonds we form and the community we build together. Our staff take pride in serving our students to ensure they have a solid foundation.

We also want to highlight the leadership demonstrated by our students. This semester, Riverside celebrated our second through fourth graders for their exceptional leadership roles, such as leading morning yoga, reading aloud in the library, helping clean the lunchroom, supporting spelling tasks, and guiding fine motor activities for younger students. Their willingness to contribute and help others is what makes Riverside truly a “Place to Belong.”

Our staff continues to inspire and nurture our students, making Riverside a school that feels like home. We have been working towards a more inclusive school community. We have an amazing special olympics/unified partners crew! We are also working toward building a more inclusive playground, where all students have the chance to play together, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to belong and be included.

To all our staff, students and families, thank you for making Riverside Elementary an extraordinary place to learn and grow. We are so grateful for the partnerships we share, the memories we create, and the community we continue to build. Together, we are making Riverside a place where everyone truly belongs and fostering the love of learning.

With sincere gratitude, Jill Bjorge.
